Biography

Born on 4th January, 1984 to V. Hariharan and B. S. Latha. Anand made his debut in 1988 at the age of 4 with the movie Kindarijogi lead by V. Ravichandran. Anand rose to fame from the 1991 movie Gowri Ganesha alongside veteran actor Anantnag, directed by Paniramachandra, produced by Vishwasagar, Dop Manjunath and dialogues by Kunigalnagabushan, which was a runaway hit.

Anand clocked over 60 plus movies in Kannada and also starred with veteran actors like: Shivanji Ganeshan in Tamil
Rajendra Prasad in Telugu
Jayaram in Malayalam and Marathi actress Ashwini Bhare in Hindi.
With the great support and guidelines from father V. Hariharan and blessings from B. S. Latha, Anand’s career spanning 10 years as a child artist between 1988 to 1999 and has won twice “Karnataka state government awards”, Filmfare, and International recognitions. Anand was and is to this day, popularly known as Master Anand with the prefix ‘Master as his tag of recognition.

Anand transitioned from a very successful child prodigy to a lead actor. And also, doing powerful supporting roles and diverse comic roles from 2001 till now.

His comeback with the 2001 release movie ‘Chitra’ and 2002 runaway hit movie ‘Friends’ gave a kick start to his career’s second innings.

Anand made his directorial debut at ‘Star Suvarna’ with ‘SSLC Nan Maklu’ in 2008, a Kannada comedy daily soap, which was a trendsetter among the youth. He continued to direct a series of superhit comedy serials with different GEC, like ‘Poduvarali Paddegales’ for Star Suvarna, Robo Family, Colors Kannada, and a suspense horror, thriller soap ‘Nigoodo Ratri’ for Zee Kannada.

Anand’s versatility and talents knew no boundaries as he not just made his name as an actor and director but also won many reality shows.
To name a couple of them:
He emerged as the winner of ‘Dancing Star Season 2’ at Colors Kannada in 2014
And, he emerged as 2nd runnerup in one of the Nation’s most popular shows ‘Bigg Boss’ Kannada Season 3, in 2015.
From directing to acting to participating in reality shows Anand also showed his interest in Radio Stations at Radio Mirchi and Namma Radio as a Celebrity R.J.
2016 was a very special year in Anand’s career, as it brought him to the limelight as a show host with shows like Drama Juniors and Comedy Khiladigalu.

He has been winning the ‘BEST ANCHOR AWARD’ right from -
2016-17, 2017-18, 2018-19, and 2019-20 - consecutively.
Starting a career at the age of 4 in 1988 to establishing a production house in 2020. Anand’s personal and professional journey has seen all walks of life.
Married Yashaswini in 2010 and is the father of two kids, Krishna Chaitanya and Vanshika.
Anand has no words to express his gratitude but only bows his head with humility to almighty, who has made this happen and still going strong.
